काश्मीरच्या हंदवाडात चकमक; दोन अधिकाऱ्यांसह ५ जवान शहीद

जम्मू, ३ मे: भारत-पाकिस्तान सीमेवर शनिवारी रात्री पुन्हा एकदा दहशतवाद्यांशी सुरक्षा रक्षकांची जोरदार चकमक झाली. या चकमकीत दोन लष्करी अधिकाऱ्यांसोबत तीन जवान शहीद झाले आहेत. तर दोन दहशतवाद्यांना कंठस्नान घालण्यात जवानांना यश आलं आहे. कुपवाडा जिल्ह्यातील हंदवाडात दहशतवादी आणि सुरक्षा रक्षकांमध्ये सुमारे आठ तास ही धुमश्चक्री सुरु होती. एएआयनं याबाबत वृत्त दिलं आहे.

शहीद जवानांमध्ये कर्नल आशुतोष शर्मा, मेजर अनुज आणि जम्मू-काश्मीर पोलीस दलातील उपनिरीक्षक शकील काझी यांचा समावेश आहे. हंदवाडाच्या चंजमुल्ला भागात दहशतवाद्यांनी काही नागरिकांना ओलीस ठेवलं होतं. त्यांची सुखरुप सुटका करण्यासाठीच्या मोहिमेवर असलेल्या पथकाचं कर्नल आशुतोष शर्मा हे नेतृत्व करत होते, अशी माहिती लष्कराच्या अधिकाऱ्यांनी दिली.

गेल्या पाच वर्षांत कर्नल किंवा कमांडिंग ऑफिसर पदावरील अधिकारी दहशतवादी चकमकीत धारातीर्थी पडण्याही ही पहिलीच वेळ आहे. यापूर्वी जानेवारी २०१५ मध्ये कर्नल एम.एन. रॉय तर नोव्हेंबर २०१५मध्ये कर्नल संतोष महाडिक हे दहशतवाद्यांशी लढताना शहीद झाले होते. यानंतर आता कर्नल आशुतोष शर्मा यांच्या रुपाने भारतीय सैन्याने आणखी एक वीर गमावला आहे. कर्नल आशुतोष शर्मा हे गेल्या अनेक वर्षांपासून काश्मीर खोऱ्यात कार्यरत होते. यादरम्यान त्यांना दोनवेळा शौर्यपदक देऊन गौरविण्यात आले होते.
